LOCAL BUSINESSES SUPPORT HOSPITAL APPEAL
Dorset bakers, Lulubelle’s Cakes, is just one of the many Dorset businesses who are supporting the Dorset County Hospital Charitable Fund’s new Digital Mammography Appeal.
The bakers, who are based in Dorset, have worked with the Fundraising Team at the hospital to come up with a Raspberry Nipple Cupcake to support the campaign. www.lulubellescakes.com
Louisa Harman, creative owner of Lulubelle’s, said: “I think it is important for businesses to support their communities where they can, even in a recession. Thinking creatively and working with the Fundraising team gave us a way to boost our business as well as benefit the Appeal. I hope the Raspberry Nipples will be a success – both for us and for the hospital.”
Fundraising Manager Stevie Pattison-Dick said: “The new Raspberry Nipple cupcakes are a tongue-in-cheek way of raising funds and we were delighted when we heard that Lulubelle’s were coming on board to support us.
“We hope that local cafes or hotels could stock them to sell to their guests or businesses could buy them to sell in their shops, or for their own fundraising events.
“They can allow their staff to use their premises to fundraise – there are lots of ways businesses can get involved.”
“Businesses like Mark Hix’s restaurant in Lyme Regis have offered us vouchers to raffle; The Designer’s Edge hairdressers in Bridport has given us a voucher to raffle for a free haircut and Palmer’s Brewery is hosting a wine tasting to raise money for the Digital Mammography equipment. We hope lots more will come on board.
Businesses can email fundraising@dchft.nhs.uk or check out the www.boostdch.co.uk website for more ideas and to let us know how they are getting involved.

NEWS
Thanks to the fantastic support we received since we launched the appeal in February 2011, the appeal has reached the £450,000 mark. With a number of fundraising events planned for the New Year, we are optimistic that we will reach our final target very soon.
We are delighted to announce that the Trust has just placed an order for the actual scanner equipment. Shortly further orders for the building work required to house the unit will be placed as well.
To celebrate the end of the appeal and to express our thanks to the many many people and groups who have shown such wholehearted support to the appeal, we are currently planning a formal final fundraising event on Wednesday 25th April, Corn Exchange Dorchester.
Further details will follow shortly, so keep checking our website ![]()
