Call to Dorset Businesses

The Dorset County Hospital Charity is calling on Dorset businesses to help it raise half a million pounds for its new 2011 to raise funds for Digital Mammography equipment for the hospital. 

 Businesses are being asked to support the appeal in any one of a number of ways including:

•            Llinking the charity’s website to their own business site
•            Supporting their staff to raise funds and even matchfunding what staff raise
•            Putting the charity’s fundraising posters or collection boxes in public areas
•            Allowing charity volunteers to visit their businesses to raise funds
•            Donating prizes for the charity’s raffles and big auction

The Charity’s Fundraising Chair, Wendy Nightingale, said: “Even in times of austerity and cutting back, we’ve been thrilled by how local businesses are responding already offering to help in any number of ways. 

“We have had some generous prizes offered already:  I collected a cheque from Alan Old at Old’s Garage in Oortesham for a whopping £1,000; Mark Hix has donated a meal for two up to the value of £100 from Mark Hix at the Oyster House in Lyme Bay and Palmers Brewery are going to hold a wine tasting to raise funds for us and there are lots more coming on board, and we are very grateful.
